PENNINGTON COBRE HOSTS GRANTSMANSHIP WORKSHOP FOR PBRC FACULTY

Drs. Israel Goldberg and Anthony Coelho of Health Research Associates, presented a Grantsmanship Workshop for Pennington faculty on January 16, 2008. The workshop, targeted to both new and experienced Investigators, reviewed the characteristics and features that are common to grant applications consistently receiving the highest priority scores for funding.  The recommended strategy emphasized the development of Research Plans built around Specific Aims which test predictions based on mechanistic hypotheses.  Drs. Goldberg and Coelho will also be working with our COBRE Junior Investigators during the upcoming year to help them implement these strategies during the development of their applications for extramural funding.
