GENOMICS CORE TAKES INITIAL STEPS TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DNA SEQUENCING TECHNOLOGY AT PBRC

Susan Newman, Assistant Director of the PBRC Genomics Core, and Jana Smith will be attending a course in Salt Lake City UT, organized by the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities, which will cover among other items the next generation of DNA sequencers. PBRC has committed to acquiring this technology following the decision by ABI to terminate support of the ABI 1700 microarray platform at the end of 2008. Susan has received a travel grant from the organizers to attend this conference and she will present a poster on the PBRC core facililty.

Susan Newman will be teaching a 2 part class on real time RT-PCR for users at PBRC on Feb. 19 and 21.
